Backup Storage

The secondary storage or secondary memory is also reffered to as backup storage since it stores large volume of data in the same binary codes on a permanent basis that can be partially transferred to the primary storage as and when required for processing. Although the large capacity of the backup memory lowers down the cost per bit stored, it simultaneously contributes to slower processing speed compared to primary storage.
