Punched Paper Tape: Data is recorded on paper tape in the form of punched hole combinations according to a coding method. The tape is normally 1” wide and available in rolls for use in varying lengths up to several feet. One particular row across the width of the tape represents one character. Although this is a low cost device, the technology has become obsolete.
